Foyt Recovering Following Successful Knee Replacement Surgery


Verizon IndyCar Series legend and owner of AJ Foyt Racing, AJ Foyt is recovering following successful knee replacement surgery in a Houston hospital on Wednesday.

The 80 year old was receiving treatment for a staph infection with the implant replacing an antibiotic-infused cement spacer. Speaking following the surgery, Foyt commented by saying:

My doctors said everything went perfectly, so I was relieved to hear that, My right leg was clear of the infection, so the doctors were able to give me a new knee. They were really pleased with how everything went.

AJ Foyt Racing driver’s Takuma Sato, Jack Hawkesworth and Alex Tagliani finished the 2015 Verizon IndyCar Series season in 14th, 17th and 37th place respectively.
