MP4-31 Already Ahead Of The 2015 Car
McLaren Honda Racing Director Eric Boullier has confirmed that the data that he has seen in relation to the 2016 car shows that it will be a massive improvement on the MP4-30 as it is already ahead of its older sister.
McLaren who teamed up with Honda this season struggled in 2015 scoring just 27 points during the year and ending up in ninth place in the Constructors championship.
Boullier who is in charge of the racing division of McLaren believes that the Woking based outfit will be in a much stronger position in 2016 if the figures and the data coming from the wind-tunnel are anything to go by. McLaren will also receive a boost in 2016 courtesy of Honda as the Japanese manufacturer will deliver a much stronger power unit.
The Frenchman who has a proven track record in Formula One having overseen the revival of the Lotus F1 Team from 2012 – 2013 has also led McLaren through a transition phase in 2015 alongside acting Managing Director Jonathan Neale and Chairman Ron Dennis and expects the team to be stronger in 2016.
Boullier believes from what he has seen that the team will be more competitive however he is not promising podiums but just that the team are in better shape in 2016 than they were going into the 2015 campaign.
