Formula One commercial rights holder Bernie Ecclestone has confirmed that he

Would love to help get a lady in a Formula One car

That is according to former Williams Martini Racing Team test driver Susie Wolff who is now running an initiative called Dare To Be Different.

Speaking earlier this week, Mr Ecclestone appeared to disregard the idea of a female driver competing in Formula One saying:

I don’t know whether a woman would physically be able to drive an F1 car quickly and they wouldn’t be taken seriously,

Ecclestone went on to say which once again was not reported that he would even put up the money as a sponsor if it meant getting an all female team involved in Formula One.

Responding to Mr Ecclestone’s comments Wolff tweeted:

For me, actions always speak louder than words. @D2BDofficialis about driving female talent & Bernie is with us. (4/4)
