Wolff Fuming Following Clash But Refuses To Point The Finger
Head of Mercedes Benz Motorsport Toto Wolff has confirmed that he will decide in the coming days whether or not to impose team orders for the rest of the season following Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg’s latest on track collision.
For the second time in just four races the pair collided although this time around both drivers finished the race in Austria.
Wolff said that the team will put the cards on the table when considering what the best course of action is and he stated that the team could potentially impose team orders which would freeze the order at a certain point in the race and although this is an unpopular choice and makes Wolff ‘puke’ the team could impose this option.
Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner believes that following the latest clash Mercedes need to decide whether or not it is now time to change their line-up.
Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber had a fractious relationship and with Nico Rosberg’s contract up at the end of the season the German could move teams next season however this is unlikely as he is unlikely to move to Ferrari who would have been the main option although Kimi Raikkonen’s latest podium has given the Finn a great chance of staying at the Prancing Horse next season.
Wolff concluded that he just does not want anymore contact.
