Mid-Ohio Broadcast A Recorder Breaker For The NBC Group

The Verizon IndyCar Series Honda Indy 200 at the Mid-Ohio sports car course in Lexington last Sunday was simulcast on both NBCSN and CNBC.

The broadcast had a peak had a total audience of 929,000 which was a record for the network since they took over the TV rights for the series in 2009. The coverage peaked at 1.326 million viewers from 3-3:15PM.

The race was won by Team Penske’s Simon Pagenaud in the No.22 PPG Automotive Refinish Chevrolet who has now extended his series points leader over team mate Will Power to 58 points with just four races remaining this season.

The final four races of the Verizon IndyCar Series season in Pocono, Texas, Watkins Glen and Sonoma will all be broadcast live on NBCSN.
