Schmidt Peterson Motorsports James Hinchcliffe and Mikhail Aleshin showed this week that Sam Schmidt and Ric Peterson have enabled them to be extremely quick by building a great team around the pair.

At Pocono Raceway on Monday, Mikhail Aleshin who started the ABC Supply 500 from pole position was extremely quick and claimed his first ever IndyCar podium finishing the race in second place.

In Texas on Saturday night, James Hinchcliffe ran extremely well over the course of the Firestone 600 leading the majority of the race and was on target for victory but lost out to Graham Rahal right at the end of the race. However, the Mayor of HinchTown was extremely fast all night and was very happy with the performance of the No.5 Arrow Honda.

It was Hinchcliffe’s third podium finish of the season having been on the podium at the Angie’s List Grand Prix of Indianapolis where he finished in third place while at his home race, the Honda Indy Toronto Hinch finished the race in third place.

Hinchcliffe also took pole position for the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil in May.

Aleshin ran inside the top five all night in Texas before he was forced to retire from the race.

Hinchcliffe heads to Watkins Glen in eighth place in the series points standings on 392 points just 2 behind Graham Rahal. Aleshin heads to the glen in 15th place on 301 points.
