Schmidt Peterson Motorsports James Hinchcliffe is hopeful that he can translate his qualifying position into a strong result in Sunday’s Verizon IndyCar Series season opening Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg.

The Mayor of HinchTown starts Sunday’s race from third place just behind Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon and pole sitter Will Power who secured his seventh pole here in the last eight starts.

Hinchcliffe who was very quick in this morning’s session said that the car came off the truck well and he hoping that he can translate his third place start position into a strong result on Sunday.
