Vettel Wins In Bahrain
Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel took his second win of the 2017 Formula One season at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
The German ended the race just ahead of the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team duo of Lewis Hamilton and pole sitter Valtteri Bottas.
Kimi Raikkonen started the race from fifth place and finished the event in fourth place just behind Valtteri Bottas. The Finn was suffering from an issue with his car early on whoch could not be corrected.
The issue plus a slow first pit-stop meant that fourth was the best result Raikkonen could achieve today.
Red Bull Racing’s Daniel Ricciardo finished the race in fifth place just ahead of Williams Martini Racing’s Felipe Massa. Ricciardo was held up in pit-lane by Lewis Hamilton who was handed a five second penalty fwhich was added to his second pit-stop.
Sergio Perez started the race towards the back of the field and came through to finish the race in seventh place.
The Haaa F1 Team’s Romain Grosjean ended the race in eighth place,just ahead of the Renault Sport F1 Team’s Nico Hulkenberg while Esteban Ocon rounded out the top ten with Force India staying in fourth place in the championship following another double points finish.
On his return to Formula One following injury, the Sauber F1 Team’s Pascal Wehrlein ended the race just outside the top ten in 11th place.
Daniil Kvyat finished the race in 12th place for Toro Rossi.
Jolyon Palmer ended the race in 13th place for the Renault Sport F1 Team while Fernando Alonso was classified in 14th place for McLaren Honda despite retiring from the race with just three laps to go with an engine failure.
Marcus Ericsson went out of the race in his Sauber while Williams Martini Racing’s Lance Stroll and Toro Rosso’s Carlos Sainz retiring from the race after colliding into Turn 1 which brought out the safety car.
Max Verstappej was forced to retire from the race with a rear brake failure in his Red Bull.
Kevin Magnussen retired from the race, while McLaren Honda’s Stoffel Vandoorne failed to start the race due to an engine issue.
