Team Penske’s Juan Pablo Montoya says that returning to racing in the Verizon IndyCar Series for the first time in seven months there is no pressure on his shoulder.

Speaking to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway website ahead of today’s race, the Colombian who will start the race from fifth place on the grid said he felt he could have been second on the grid alongside pole sitter and his team mate at Team Penske Will Power.

Montoya went on to say that today’s race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is beneficial for him and his new crew in their preparation for the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil as they are looking at the bigger picture. Montoya will be back on track at the Speedway on Monday as practice for the 101st Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil gets underway.

Montoya was also surprised with how quickly he got up to speed having been out of the car for such a long time.

Montoya is aiming to join his Team Penske team mate Helio Castroneves as a three time Indianapolis 500 winner and a strong result here today would be a great way to kick off his preparations for the race on May 28.
