Boston Marathon Bombing Survivor To Wave The Green Flag For The 101st Running Of The Indianapolis 500

Jeff Bauman, who survived the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013, helped law enforcement to identify one of the suspects will wave the green flag for the start of the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil.

Bauman, who wrote a book called ‘Stronger’ will be joined by actor Jake Gyllenhaal who portrays Bauman in the film adaptation of Bauman’s book to released in September as the pair will share the honor of starting the race.

It is the first time in the history of the Indianapolis 500 that the honor of waving the green flag will be shared.

Practice for the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil gets underway today with the race taking place on May 28.
