Consistency Sets Dixon And Ganassi Up Nicely To Challenge For Victory At The 500

Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott and in the No.9 NTT DATA Honda has hit the groud running in the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series season.

The New Zealander has embraced the changes within the Ganassi organization over the winter following the departure of his longtime primary sponsor Target and the return of Honda to the team.

Dixon finds himself in second place in the series points standings on 181 just ten behind series leader Simon Pagenaud heading into the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil.

Ganassi have provided Dixon with an extremely strong car that has enabled the Verizon IndyCar Series Iceman to challenge for victories this year.

Dixon has scored three podium finishes in the opening five races of the season with two second place and a third place finish.

Dixon took victory in the 2008 Indianapolis 500 and has the perfect opportunity to claim his second Indianapolis 500 win this year.

Dixon also has the opportunity thanks to his consistency so far this year to challenge for his fifth Verizon IndyCar Series Championship. Chip Ganassi Racing will be hoping that all four of their cars can challenge for the 500 victory this season.

The team have two former Indy 500 winners in their ranks in Scott Dixon and Tony Kanaan whose experience have helped the team have a seemless transition from Chevrolet to Honda for 2017.

In Ganassi, Honda have a fantastic opportunity to add defend their Indianapolis 500 from last season with addition of foour cars this season.

The next few days at the Speedway are Go I to be extremely interesting.
