One Of The Best Experiences Of My Career
Fernando Alonso has described his outing in the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil on Sunday as
One of the best experiences of my career.
Alonso started the race from fifth place on the grid and led the race a number of times and showed that he is a natural on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway showing fantastic pace running up front with his team mates Alexander Rossi and Ryan Hunter Reay.
Towards the end of the race, Alonso got caught in the midfield pack and eventually his Honda engine blew.
The failure hasn’t dampened his enthusiasm for the Verizon IndyCar Series. Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ McLaren Executive Director Zak Brown said that the team were delighted with his performance during the entire month of May.
When asked about the Formula One team he said he would not blame Alonso if he leaves the Formula One team.
Mario Andretti who helped Alonso in the team took to Twitter saying:
So so sorry Fernando.
@alo_oficial You put on an incredible show this month, both in the car and out. Very impressive. Come back again
