Vettel Wins In Monaco
Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel took victory at Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday after taking the lead from team mate Kimi Raikkonen who led the race from pole position, following the pit-stop phase in the race.
Daniel Ricciardo in the Red Bull ended the race on the podium in third place just ahead of Mercedes Valtteri Bottas and Max Verstappen.
Scuderia Toro Rosso’s Carlos Sainz ended the day in sixth place just ahead of Lewis Hamilton who came through the field from 13th place on the grid to finish the race in the top ten.
The Haas F1 Team’s Romain Grosjean did a great job for the American outfit as he ended the event in eighth just ahead of Felipe Massa in the Williams while Kevin Magnusen in the second Haas rounded out the top ten.
Renault’s Jolyon Palmer ended the race in 11th place just ahead of Force India’s Esteban Ocon and Sergio Perez.
It was a disappointing race for McLaren Honda’s Jenson Button who returned for a one off race with Fernando Alonso taking part in the Indianapolis 500 later today as he retired from the race. In a great moment before the race, Fernando Alonso came on the radio to Jenson and wished him luck for the race as they were watching from Indianapolis.
Stoffel Vandoorne retired from the race in the second McLaren, the Sauber duo of Marcus Ericsson and Pascal Wehrlein also retired from the race while Renault’s Nico Hulkenberg suffered a gearbox failure.
