Ed Carpenter Racing Could Have Been On Pole
Ed Carpenter Racing’s JR Hildebrand felt that he could have secured pole position for today’s Iowa Corn 300 at Iowa Speedway.
Hildebrand in the No.21 Fuzzy’s Ultra Premium Vodka Chevrolet will start the race from the front row alongside Verizon P1 Award winner Will Power.
Ed Carpenter Racing team owner Ed Carpenter did a fantastic job and nearly claimed pole position but starts the race from fourth place.
Speaking ahead of the race, Hildebrand commented by saying:
We certainly came in here expecting that we could put the car in the front row, so I’m just sort of in a way relieved that we were able to recover from this morning and do that.
“You obviously want to be able to capitalize on opportunities to get poles when they present themselves. “Today certainly would have been one of those for us, but I think in the big scheme of things, we’ll certainly take a front-row spot. A lot of credit to the team to give me something to be confident to get back out there and push pretty hard.”
