Pagenaud On Pole In Toronto Ahead Of Rahal

Team Penske’s reigning Verizon IndyCar Series champion Simon Pagenaud starts Sunday’s Honda Indy Toronto from pole position having set a time of 00:58.9124s ending the session with Graham Rahal in the No.15 Rousseau Metals Honda joining Pagenaud on the front row for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing with what he described as the best lap on used reds he has ever done.

Helio Castroneves in the No.3 Hitachi Chevrolet starts the race from third place just ahead of Will Power in the No.12 Verizon Chevrolet while series points leader Scott Dixon in the No.9 NTT DATA Honda starts the race from fifth place.

Schmidt Peterson Motorsports home favourite James Hinchcliffe in the No.5 Arrow Electronics Honda starts the race from sixth place just ahead of Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden in the No.2 Devilbiss Chevrolet. Alexander Rossi starts the race from eighth place for Andretti Autosport just ahead of Chip Ganassi Racing’s Max Chilton while Takuma Sato rounds out the top ten.

Marco Andretti in the No.27 UFD starts the race from 11th place for Andretti Autosport who starts the race just ahead of JR Hildebrand who crashed just before the pit entrance during qualifying.

Spencer Pigot in the No.20 Fuzzy’s Ultra Premium Vodka Chevrolet starts the race from 13th place.

Tony Kanaan in the No.10 NTT DATA Honda starts the race from 14th place just ahead of rookie Ed Jones in the No.19 Boy Scouts of America Honda for Dale Coyne Racing. Ryan Hunter Reay in the No.28 DHL Honda starts the race from 16th place just ahead of Chip Ganassi Racing’s Charlie Kimball in the No.83 NovoNordisk Honda.

AJ Foyt Racing’s Conor Daly in the No.4 ABC Supply Co Chevrolet starts the race from 18th just ahead of his team mate Carlos Munoz in the No.14 ABC Supply Co Chevrolet.

Sebastian Saavedra in the No.7 Lucas Oil Honda starts the race from 20th place while Dale Coyne Racing’s Esteban Gutierrez in the No.18 Unifin Honda rounds out the order in 21st place after crashing in the opening session.
