Verizon IndyCar Series veteran drivers Juan Pablo Montoya and Oriol Servia were on hand once again on Tuesday as they tested the new road course universal aero kit which will be introduced in 2018.

Montoya was testing for Chevrolet with the car being prepared by Team Penske while Servia was with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports to test the Honda kit.

Today’s test took place at the at the Mid-Ohio sports car course in Lexington, Ohio. It was the second test of the new 2018 aero kit and the first of the road course configuration of the Honda and Chevrolet kit.

The testing for Servia and Montoya is like an early Christmas present for the pair as they are able to have fun with the cars.

The test on Tuesday marked the end of a busy period on the 2.258 mile circuit. The next test takes place at the Iowa Speedway on August 10 with another road/street course test at the Sebring International Raceway on September 26 following the conclusion of the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series season.

The test on Tuesday marked the end of an extremely busy few days at the Mid-Ohio sports car course following last weekend’s Honda Indy 200 which was won by Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden who took his third victory of the season and in doing so has taken the lead in the championship for the first time in his career.
