Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon in the No.9 NTT DATA Honda goes into today’s ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway in third place in the championship, eight points behind leader Josef Newgarden.

The Iceman who starts the race from ninth on the grid is in a perfect place to strike back at his title rivals Josef Newgarden and Helio Castroneves of Team Penske.

Dixon’s chief rivals, Newgarden and Castroneves endured a difficult qualifying session on Saturday with Newgarden in the No.2 Fitzgerald Glider Kits starting the race from 14th place while Castroneves failed to set a time n the No.3 Hitachi Chevrolet and therefore as a result will start the race from 20th place.

Dixon has had two disappointing races in Toronto and last time out at the Road America sports car course so he will be hoping that he can come away with a strong result to start the three races in a row in a strong position.

Speaking following qualifying, Dixon said that he hopeful that he and his crew can keep the No.9 NTT DATA Honda up front when it counts.
