Job Cuts At Ganassi As A Result Of Downsizing IndyCar Programme
Paddock Eye has learned that Chip Ganassi Racing have made 43 people redundant following the news on Wednesday that the team will reduce their Verizon IndyCar Series programme from four to two cars for the 2018 Verizon IndyCar Series season.
The news of Ganassi’s reduced Verizon IndyCar Series involvement from next season came as a surprise.
It is expected however that the majority of staff who were let go have been offered roles with other teams within the series such as Andretti Autosport and Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing with Bobby Rahal’s outfit increasing from one to two full time cars for 2018.
Harding Racing are entering the series full-time in 2018 and it is also expected that Trevor Carlin will enter the series next season and will be looking for experienced Verizon IndyCar Series team personnel.
