Chip Ganassi Racing’s announcement on Wednesday that they have signed Ed Jones to drive the No.10 NTT DATA Honda alongside Scott Dixon came as a surprise to the Verizon IndyCar Series paddock, however Ganassi and team managing director Mike Hull have pulled off a major coup.

Jones was extremely impressive during his roomie season in 2017 and with Scott Dixon in the team, Jones will benefit from the Iceman’s vast experience.

Jones not only has youth on his side but he also has a year of working with Honda which will be beneficial to the team with the introduction of the new aero kit for 2018.

Jones will also benefit from the incredibly experienced engineers and technicians at Chip Ganassi Racing.
