Newgarden Wants At Least One Season In F1
Verizon IndyCar Series champion Josef Newgarden says that he would like to race in Formula One for at least one season during his motorsport career.
The Tennessee native who won the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series championship in his first season with Penske has confirmed that he is completely committed to Team Penske.
Newgarden who drove for Sarah Fisher and then Ed Carpenter Racing before moving to Penske has confirmed his main focus for 2018 is on defending his championship and winning the Indianapolis 500 next May.
Newgarden attended last weekend’s United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas where he took in the F1 action as well as making an appearance with Team Penske sponsor Shell.
The driver market in Formula One is set for 2018 so Newgarden could be a potential candidate for a drive in Formula One with the Haas F1 Team in 2019 but time will tell what the future holds for the defending Verizon IndyCar Series champion.
