Verstappen Leads The Way In FP3
Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen led the way in the final practice session ahead of qualifying for Sunday’s Mexican Grand Prix. The Dutch driver set a lap record of 01:17.113s and ended the session just ahead of championship leader Lewis Hamilton who was suffering from power issues.
Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel was third fastest just ahead of Valtteri Bottas in the second Mercedes while Daniel Ricciardo was fifth in the second Red Bull.
Kimi Raikkonen in the second Ferrari was sixth fastest just ahead of the Force India pairing of home favourite Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon while the Renault Sport F1 Team duo of Carlos Sainz and Nico Hulkenberg rounded out the top ten for the Enstone outfit.
Brendon Hartley did a great job for Toro Rosso as he ended the session in 11th place for Toro Rosso just ahead of the Williams Martini Racing Team pairing of Felipe Massa and Lance Stroll. Kevin Magnussen having been given the green light to continue this weekend after illness was 14th just ahead of the Sauber F1 Team’s Marcus Ericsson while McLaren Honda’s Fernando Alonso was 16th fastest.
Romain Grosjean in the second Haas was 17th fastest just ahead of Pascal Wehrlein and McLaren Honda’s Stoffel Vandoorne. Pierre Gasly rounded out the order in 20th place having stopped on track early in the session.
