Bottas On Pole In Brazil As Hamilton Crashes In Brazil

Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team’s Valtteri Bottas will start Sunday’s Brazilian Grand Prix from pole position after setting a fastest time of 01:08.322s and will start the race just ahead of Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen.

It wasn’t all good news for Mercedes in qualifying as 2017 world champion Lewis Hamilton crashed out in the opening session and as a result starts the race from 20th place.

Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo start the race from fourth and fifth place respectively just ahead of Force India’s Sergio Perez who did a fantastic job for the Silverstone based outfit as he starts the race from sixth place.

McLaren Honda’s Fernando Alonso secured his best qualifying result of the season as he starts the race from seventh place.

The Renault Sport F1 Team’s Nico Hulkenberg and Carlos Sainz qualified in eighth and ninth place. Home favourite Felipe Massa rounds out the top ten for Williams Martini Racing. The Brazilian is starting his final home Grand Prix.

Esteban Ocon starts the race from 11th place just ahead of the Haas F1 Team’s Romain Grosjean while McLaren Honda’s Stoffel Vandoorne starts the race from 13th place.

Kevin Magnussen starts the race from 14th place for the Haas F1 Team just ahead of Toro Rosso’s Brendon Hartley. The Sauber F1 Team’s Pascal Wehrlein starts the race from 16th place just ahead of Toro Rosso’s Pierre Gasly.

Williams Martini Racing’s Lance Stroll starts the race from 18th place just ahead of Marcus Ericsson and world champion Lewis Hamilton who rounds out the grid for the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team.

Of Note: Daniel Ricciardo, Stoffel Vandoorne and both Toro Rosso drivers have grid penalties for Sunday’s race.
