Ganassi Steering Clear Of The Hot Potato
Chip Ganassi Racing’s Managing Director Mike Hull has told Paddock Eye that the team will not field Danica Patrick for the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil in May.
Patrick announced on Friday that she will retire from full-time motorsport following Sunday’s NASCAR event in Miami, during an emotional press conference the former IndyCar driver announced that she will compete in the Daytona 500 and finish her racing career with the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil on May 27.
Speaking to Paddock Eye on Twitter, Hull commented by saying:
Lots of action with that hot potatoe today, so not going to catch it. DP made her intentions known just today, so certainly someone will help her to achieve success. Glad that she’s committed again to race the
#indy500 as it has global presence.
