Consistency Pays Off For Bourdais – Coyne

Dale Coyne, co-owner of the No.18 SealMaster Honda with Jimmy Vasser and James ‘Sulli’ Sullivan said that Sebastien Bourdais’ consistency gave the team a fourth place car for Sunday’s Verizon IndyCar Series season opening Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg, however luck gave the team the win.

For Coyne and Bourdais it was their second successful Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg in a row after they took victory here last season.

Speaking following the race, Coyne commented saying:

We had an eighth-place car today. “(Bourdais’) consistency makes that a fourth-place car, and luck made it a winning car.

When asked about whether or not he considered leaving the sport following his accident during practice for the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil last season, Bourdais commented by saying:

When I got the verdict of what was broken and I was going to heal pretty well, it was never a question on whether I should continue or stop. “Guess I’m glad I did continue.
