Castroneves’ Only Focus Should Be On Winning A Fourth Indianapolis 500

Former Verizon IndyCar Series driver Helio Castroneves’ should be focus solely on winning his fourth Indianapolis 500 according to his boss Roger Penske.

The Brazilian stepped away from full-time Verizon IndyCar Series competition at the end of last season as Penske scaled back their programme to three full-time cars with defending series champion Josef Newgarden, Simon Pagenaud and Will Power remaining with the team.

Despite leaving his full-time Verizon IndyCar Series seat, Castroneves remains with Penske competing alongside Juan Pablo Montoya in the IMSA championship driving an Acura.

Castroneves will return to the Verizon IndyCar Series for the month of May with the IndyCar Grand Prix of Indianapolis and the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil where the Brazilian will return to the No.3 Chevrolet.

Castroneves was the grand marshal at the 2018 Verizon IndyCar Series season opening Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg last weekend.

Speaking to a select group of media during an event at the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg, Penske commented by saying:

I would say, to have three champions driving this year in the series is amazing,

Castroneves who has been with Penske since the year 2000 will be hoping that he can kiss the bricks again this season. Penske feels that the Brazilian should focus on winning his fourth Indianapolis 500.

Speaking over the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg weekend, Castroneves confirmed that he has yet to drive the new 2018 aero-kit,
