Kiel Proud Of How Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Have Gelled Together Of The Off-Season

Schmidt Peterson Motorsport team manager and strategist for the No.5 Arrow Electronics Honda for James Hinchcliffe says he is proud of how the team have gelled together over the off-season following a strong weekend at the season opening Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg last weekend.

Speaking about Leena Gade’s first Verizon IndyCar Series race, Kiel said that it was probably an eye opener for her and a little more chaotic then what she is used to.

Kiel went on to say that Gade is right in step with everyone else in the team and they are all proud with how she is progressing within the outfit. Kiel went on to say that the team have proven following the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg that they can compete with anybody, that they will go home, regroup, take the positives from the weekend and come back stronger for the next race in Phoenix next month.

Schmidt Peterson Motorsports new driver Robert Wickens in the No.6 Lucas Oil Honda took an impressive maiden Verizon P1 Award and went on to dominate the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg before being forced to retire from the race following contact from Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi. James Hinchcliffe in the No.5 Arrow Electronics Honda took a well deserved fourth place finish.
