Honda Reportedly Negotiating A Deal For Hinch To Race In The Indy 500
The IndyCar Series radio network are reporting that Honda Performance Development are working on a deal to get Schmidt Peterson Motorsports James Hinchcliffe into the field for the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil.
As it stands, the Mayor Of HinchTown will not compete in the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil however due to the Mayor being one of the leading drivers in the series and representing Honda in such a big way Paddock Eye understands that Hinchcliffe is likely to be in a car for the most famous motor race in the world.
Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing and Andretti Autosport have already ruled out bumping one of their drivers out for Hinch.
Jeremy Hinchcliffe, James’ dad has however told the IndyCar Radio Network that he and Hinch’s mum will be returning to Canada on Monday which would suggest that as it stands it does not look good for Hinch to start the race.
If Hinch does miss the race, it will have a major impact on the Canadian’s championship hopes but it will also be commercially expensive for bot the series and Schmidt Peterson Motorsports.
