Double Formula One world champion Fernando Alonso who preparing to make his LeMans 24 Hour debut with Toyota Gazoo Racing this weekend has dropped a big hint about where he will race next season.

The Spaniard who retired from his 300th Grand Prix in Montreal on Sunday received a message Twitter fron Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Graham Rahal saying:

Hey , is calling your name. We would welcome your competitive spirit and insane driving talent. Come RACE with us! See you in 2019. 💪🏻🔥🏁

Alonso’s reply was interesting, it was a gif of Marshal from the TV show How I Met Your Mother grinning like a cherish cat and hiding behind a cushion.

Fernando Alonso is currently running the World Endurance Championship season with Toyota Gazoo Racing alongside his Formula One commitments and arrived in LeMans yesterday as he prepares to make his debut in the race this weekend.

The Spaniard goes into the race at LeMans having won on his debut in the WEC last time out at the Six Hours of Spa. If Alonso were to win LeMans not only would he become the second active Formula One driver to do so after Nico Hulkenberg but he would also tick another a box on his quest for the Triple Crown leaving only the Indianapolis 500.

McLaren CEO Zak Brown said at the weekend during the Canadian Grand Prix that the team are conducting a comprehensive due diligence on the Verizon IndyCar Series.
