The British Grand Prix takes place this weekend at the Silverstone circuit in Northamptonshire and next month it will play host to the World Endurance Championship with the Six Hours of Silverstone which takes place from August 17-19.

This race could play a crucial role in deciding Fernando Alonso’s future career direction. The double Formula One world champion’s McLaren contract expires at the end of the season and he has said that he will use F1’s summer break between Hungary and Spa to decide where his future lies.

Scuderia Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen was last week linked with a return to McLaren if Fernando decides to move on at the end of the season.

Alonso is currently leading the World Endurance Championship standings after winning the LeMan 24 Hours last month with Toyota Gazoo Racing. The Spaniard also won the season opening race in Spa.

Alonso has a big decision, does he stay in Formula One? Make a full-time move to the Verizon IndyCar Series with an Andretti Autosport backed McLaren team? or does he continue with Toyota Gazoo Racing full-time?
