Aston Martin Red Bull Racing’s Daniel Ricciardo says he expects that his new deal with the team will be completed by the time the Summer break ends and the teams head to Spa Francorchamps for the Belgian Grand Prix at the end of August.

For the first time in his career the Australian is a free agent at the end of the season and had been linked to the likes of Mercedes, McLaren and Ferrari (although the Australian has confirmed that he never held talks with Ferrari over partnering Sebastian Vettel).

Ricciardo was promoted to Red Bull Racing from Toro Rosso ahead of the 2014 season replacing his fellow Australian Mark Webber who had retired from the sport the previous year.

The Australian is not sure when the new deal will be made public.
