Dixon Needs A String Of Bad Races In Order For Power To Win The Championship
Team Penske’s Will Power believes the only way that he can win the 2018 Verizon IndyCar Series championship is if points leader Scott Dixon of Chip Ganassi Racing has a run of bad luck.
The 2018 Indianapolis 500 champion goes into next weekend’s ABC Supply 500 in fourth place in the championship, 87 points behind Dixon.
Power has had bad luck this season retiring from both races in Phoenix and Texas while he also hit the pitwall in wet conditions after spinning at Road America.
The Australian dominated the month of Nay winning both the IndyCar Grand Prix of Indianapolis and the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil.
Power believes however that Dixon has an insurmountable lead unless his suffers some misfortune in the final four racea of the season and the Australian believes that the double points season finale in Sonoma next month with benefit him and his No.12 Verizon Chevrolet crew most of all.
