The Verizon IndyCar Series have scheduled a media conference with current points leader Scott Dixon where it is widely expected he will discuss his future plans.

Paddock Eye understands that despite offers from other teams including McLaren the Iceman will remain with Chip Ganassi Racing.

The partnership has been extremely successful over the years and as the saying goes ‘if it isn’t broken, there is no need to fix it.’

Dixon has won all of his four Verizon IndyCar Series championships with Chip Ganassi Racing and won the 2008 Indianapolis 500 with the team.

No only is Dixi a talented driver but Chip has built an extremely strong team around the New Zealander with the likes of Chip Ganassi Racing’s Managing Director Mike Hull, spotter Robbie Fast and assistant engineer Kate Gundlach to name but a few.

Out of his 43 career wins all bar one have come with Chip Ganassi Racing so there is no reason they make changes to such a successful partnership.

Dixon has said himself that whatever he does he wants at least a two or three year agreement to remain in the Verizon IndyCar Series.
