Chip Ganassi Racing Managing Director Mike Hull says he believes the Verizon IndyCar Series championship needs to go down to a decider at Sonoma.

Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda goes into the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 at Gateway Motorsports Park this weekend leading the championship by 29 points from Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi.

Speaking to the IndyCar Radio Network at Gateway Motorsports Park, Hull said that the series needs to have a decider at the end of the season.

The Astor Cup will be awarded on September 16th at Sonoma Raceway.
