Honda Win The 2018 Verizon IndyCar Series Manufacturers Title With Two Races To Go

Honda Performance Development have been crowned the 2018 Verizon IndyCar Series manufacturers champions with two races to go.

The company have had a phenomenal 2018 campaign winning nine of the fifteen races we have had so far this season. Verizon IndyCar Series championship points leader Scott Dixon who drives the No.9 PNC Bank Honda for Chip Ganassi Racing has won three races so far this season as has second placed Alexander Rossi in the Honda powered No.27 NAPA Auto Parts Andretti Autosport car.

Schmidt Peterson Motorsports James Hinchcliffe in the No.5 Arrow Electronics Honda has taken one victory which came at the Iowa Corn 300.

Ryan Hunter Reay in the No.28 DHL Honda for Andretti Autosport has also taken on victory which came in Detroit race 2 in June.

Dale Coyne with Vasser Sullivan Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais took victory at the season opening Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg in the No.18 Team SealMaster Honda.

Honda powered cars have scored 31 podium finishes this season and have secured a 319 point lead in the battle against Chevrolet meaning they have claimed their first manufacturers title since 2012.
