Dixon Leads Combined Session Times In Portland

Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda led the combined session times as the Verizon IndyCar Series took part in a pre event test at Portland International Raceway on Thursday.

The Iceman who leads the championship by 26 points going into the weekend set a combined session time of 00:58.3593s.

Team Penske’s Will Power and Defending Verizon IndyCar Series champion Josef Newgarden were second and thord fastest for the Captain.

Marco Andretti ended the day with the fourth fastest combined time ending up just ahead of his team mate Zach Veach and Dale Coyne with Vasser Sullivan Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais in the No.18 Gorilla Automotive Products Honda.

Ryan Hunter Reay in the No.28 DHL Honda ended the day with the seventh fastest time just ahead of Chip Ganassi Racing’s Ed Jones in the No.10 NTT DATA Honda.

Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi in the No.27 NAPA Auto Parts Honda was ninth while it was a grear day for Meyer Shank Racing as Jack Harvey as he rounded out the top ten.

Ed Carpenter Racing’s Jordan King was 11th just ahead of AJ Foyt Racing’s Matheus Matt Leist.

Takuma Sato in the No.30 MiJack Panasonic Honda was 13th for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing just ahead of Harding Racing’s Gabby Chaves in the No.88 Harding Group Chevrolet.

Schmidt Peterson Motorsports James Hinchcliffe in the No.5 Arrow Electronics Honda ended the day with 15th fastest combined time just ahead of Dale Coyne Racing’s Pietro Fittipaldi.

Graham Rahal in the No.15 One Cure Honda was 17th just ahead of Team Penske’s Simon Pagenaud in the No.22 Menards Chevrolet.

Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Carlos Munoz in the No. 6 Lucas Oil Honda was 19th just ahead of Ed Carpenter Racing’s Spencer Pigot.

Santino Ferrucci was 21st just ahead of Charlie Kimball in the No.23 Tresiba ® Chevrolet. AJ Foyt Racing’s Tony Kanaan in the No.14 ABC Supply Chevrolet was 23rd just ahead of Max Chilton in the No.59 Gallagher Chevrolet while Alfonso Celis rounded out the order in 25th place.
