Hamilton Wins In Monza Ahead Of Raikkonen
Defending Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton took victory in today’s Italian Grand Prix at the Monza circuit.
The four time champion beat pole sitter Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen who set a lap record during qualifying.
Hamilton won despite a first corner collision with title rival Sebastian Vettel.
Valtteri Bottas ended the race in third place just ahead of Vettel.
Aston Martin Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen ended the race in fifth place just ahead of the Haas F1 Team’s Romain Grosjean.
Racing Point Force India F1 Team’s Esteban Ocon and Sergio Perez finished the race in seventh and eighth place respectively. Carlos Sainz finished the race in ninth place for the Renault Sport F1 Team.
Williams Martini Racing’s Lance Stroll rounded out the top ten.
Sergey Sirotkin finished the event in 11th place just ahead of the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team’s Charles Leclerc while McLaren Renault’s Stoffel Vandoorne 13th just ahead of the Renault Sport F1 Team’s Nico Hulkenberg.
Pierre Gasly was 15th just ahead of Marcus Ericsson and Kevin Magnussen.
Daniel Ricciardo, Fernando Alonso and Brendan Hartley all retired from the race.
