After 16 Races And Six Months It Comes Down To Sonoma This Weekend
The talking is almost over it is nearly time to decide the 2018 Verizon IndyCar Series championship. Realistically it is a two horse race going into the double points season finale Grand Prix of Sonoma this weekend with Scott Dixon of Chip Ganassi Racing and Alexander Rossi of Andretti Autosport set for a fierce on track battle.
Dixon holds both the points advantage and some might say a psychological edge as he has been in this position so many times before. Rossi can go into this weekend’s race knowing that he has had a fantastic season regardless of what happens on Sunday and will go all out for the win.
The Iceman will of course be going for the win however with double points on offer he can win the championship if he wins the race, however Dixon can also win the championship if he finishes second to Rossi if neither driver receives any bonus points over the course of the weekend.
The equation for Rossi is simple, he needs to win the race, and hope that Dixon finishes fourth or lower.
