LeClerc Better Hit The Ground Running Next Season
The Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team’s Charles LeClerc will have to hit the ground running in 2019 after it was confirmed on Tuesday that he will join Ferrari as Sebastian Vettel’s team mate with Kimi Raikkonen heading in the opposite direction.
LeClerc is the youngest driver to join Ferrari since 1961 and will face an uphill task to beat four time world champion Sebastian Vettel who has made Ferrari his team since joining from Red Bull Racing ahead of the 2016 season.
The Monacan driver made his Formula One race debut with the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team in 2018 and may find it tough to match Sebastian Vettel in 2019. Ferrari faced a backlash from fans following the news that Raikkonen would be replace as the Finn is the most popular driver on the grid.
LeClerc goes into this weekend’s Singapore Grand Prix in 15th place in the drivers standings on 13 points while Kimi Raikkonen is in third place on on 164 points.
