What A Weekend It Was At Sonoma A Fantastic Team Effort

It was a fantastic weekend for Chip Ganassi Racing in Sonoma as The Iceman, Scott Dixon scored his fifth Verizon IndyCar Series championship. Dixon who finished second in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda became the first driver in 51 years to win five titles, the only other driver to have achieved that is the legend AJ Foyt who was in Sonoma on Sunday to witness Dixon’s win as he oversaw his team AJ Foyt Racing.

Not only was it a fantastic day for Scott Dixon but for race engineers Kate Gundlach and Danielle Shepard as they became the first female engineers in IndyCar history to win the championship from the timing stands.

The Iceman scored nine podiums on his way to the championship. It has been an incredible team effort between Mike Hull, Robbie Fast, Kate Gundlach, Danielle Shepard and the rest of the No.9 PNC Bank team.
