Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon who won his fifth Verizon IndyCar Series championship in Sonoma last weekend says he has no regrets about continuing in IndyCar instead of moving to Formula One.

The Iceman tested for the BMW Williams F1 during the early stages of the 2004 Formula One season after winning his first IndyCar championship the previous year.

Williams had already got their drivers in place for that season and the Iceman has revealed that he would have been handed a test role with the team before possibly making the step up to a full-time seat and he did not want to go from defending IndyCar champion to a test driver role.

Since the F1 test, Dixon has gone on to win a further four IndyCar Series championships placing him second behind the legendary AJ Foyt who won seven titles.

Dixon also won the 2008 Indianapolis 500 with Chip Ganassi Racing.
