Philips Steps Down As General Manager Of Schmidt Peterson Motorsports
Schmidt Peterson Motorsports announced on Wednesday that General Manager Piers Philips has stepped down as General Manager of the Indianapolis based Verizon IndyCar Series team with immediate affect.
Speaking about the news, team co-owner Sam Schmidt said:
“Both Ric (Peterson) and I are very thankful to Piers for the impact he has had on the team for the last three years and for helping us to get to where we are today. “We wish him nothing but the best in whatever he chooses to do next.”
The General Manager position within the team is open while team manager Taylor Kiel who has been with the team since 2008 taking up a wider management role within SPM.
