Verstappen Fastest Again In FP2 As Sainz Shines Again In Mexico
Aston Martin Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen set the fastest time once again in the second practice session ahead of Sunday’s Mexican Grand Prix. The Dutchman set a fastest time of 01:16.720s despite coming to a stop as a result of power loss due to a loss of hydraulic pressure.
Daniel Ricciardo in the second Red Bull was second fastest while the Renault Sport F1 Team’s Carlos Sainz was the star of the show in the afternoon session as he once again finished the session in third place just 1.233s behind Verstappen.
Scuderia Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel was fourth fastest just ahead of Nico Hulkenberg in the second Renault.
Scuderia Toro Rosso’s Brendon Hartley who it has been revealed will have to wait until December to find out his Formula One future ended the session in sixth place just ahead of championship leader Lewis Hamilton in his Mercedes. Kimi Raikkonen was eighth fastest for Scuderia Ferrari just ahead of Valtteri Bottas.
Hometown hero Sergio ‘Checo’ Perez rounded out the top ten for the Racing Point Force India Formula One team.
Esteban Ocon in the second Racing Point Force India F1 team car was 11th fastest just ahead of Romain Grosjean while Charles Leclerc was 13th just ahead of Pierre Gasly and McLaren Renault’s Stoffel Vandoorne.
Williams Martini Racing’s Lance Stroll was 16th fastest just ahead of the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team’s Marcus Ericsson.
Sergey Sirotkin was 18th for the Williams Martini Racing Team just ahead of McLaren Renault’s Fernando Alonso while Kevin Magnussen in the second Haas rounded out the order in 20th place.
