Wood Excited About The W-Series And Looking Forward To Bathurst
W Series qualifier Kaitlin Wood says she is excited to begin the preparation for the series in Austria at the end of January and hopes that she will be selected to compete in the series which begin in Hockenheim in May.
Speaking to Paddock Eye on the final day of the 2019 Autosport International Show at Birmingham’s NEC Arena, Wood said that she is hoping to get some more laps in the W-Series simulator on their stand at the show later today after completing laps in the car during the weekend.
Wood was due to compete in the Bathurst 12 Hour race last year but her team mate retired from the race early on and she wasn’t able to take part.
The Australian will compete in the 2019 Bathurst race at the end of this month with M Motorsport in the KTM GT4 and she will head out to Australia after the W-Series time in Austria.
Wood said she can’t wait to get out on track and hopes that she can finish on the podium. The Australian is aiming to compete in the LeMans 24 Hours and have a career in endurance racing.
When it comes to the W Series, Wood is most looking forward to racing racing at Brands Hatch if she gets a slot on the grid and she also said that she is looking forward to the racing at Hockenheim as she has never competed there before.
