Scuderia Toro Rosso technical director Jody Egginton says he is delighted with the progress that his team’s engine supplier Honda has had over the winter.

Daniil Kvyat was fastest on day three of the opening winter test at the Barcelona Circuit Du Catalunya on Wednesday and Alex Albon was second fastest on the final day of testing.

Egginton has been impressed with the reliability of the Honda power unit and is delighted with the progress the engine manufacturer has made in the last 12 months.

Honda recently expanded their UK base in Milton Keynes to accommodate their new partnership with Aston Martin Red Bull Racing and with two teams on their books this year it will help the Japanese manufacturer push forward with their engine development.

It will be very interesting to watch how Honda get on this season with the addition of Aston Martin Red Bull Racing to their programme and to see what they can achieve in Formula One in 2019.
