Norris Fastest For McLaren As The Second Week Of Testing Gets Underway
McLaren Renault’s Lando Norris was the pace setter as the second week of winter testing got underway at the Barcelona Circuit Du Catalunya in Spain on Monday.
The Englishman set a fastest time of 01:17.709s completing 80 laps.
Pierre Gasly was send fastest for Aston Martin Red Bull Racing in the Honda powered RB15. The Frenchman set a fastest time of 01:17.715s.
SportPesa Racing Point F1 Team’s Lance Stroll was third fastest in the RP19 with a fastest time of 01:17.824s.
Sebastian Vettel was fourth fastest for Ferrari despite a lengthy delay for the Italian team who spent time in the garage checking the cooling after Charles Leclerc’s run in the morning.
Alfa Romeo Racing’s Antonio Giovinazzi was fifth fastest with a fastest time of 01:18.589s having completed 99 laps.
Scuderia Toro Rosso’s Alex Albon was sixth fastest just ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc.
The Rich Energy Haas F1 Team’s Kevin Magnussen was eight fastest just ahead of Rokit Williams Racing’s George Russell.
The Renault F1 Team’s Daniel Ricciardo rounded out the top ten.
Valtteri Bottas came to a stop on track in the afternoon following just one lap due to an oil pressure problem. The Finn ended the day in eleventh just ahead of his team mate Lewis Hamilton while Nico Hulkenberg rounded out the order for Renualt.
