McLaren May Have To Alter Their Livery Ahead Of The Australian Grand Prix
The McLaren Formula One team may have to follow Scuderia Ferrari’s lead in altering their car livery for next weekend’s 2019 Formula One season opening Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne’s Albert Park.
It was announced earlier this week that Ferrari have dropped the Mission Minnow part of their name and it is expected that due to Australia’s strict tobacco advertising laws that they will not carry Mission Minnow on the SF90 as it is a Philip Morris initiative.
Paddock Eye understands that McLaren Renault who recently signed a deal with British American Tobacco to promote alternative products to smoking.
McLaren have British American Tobacco’s A Better Tomorrow branding on both MCL34’s driven by Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris so with the strict regulations in place it is expected that McLaren will not have that branding on their cars for the season opening Australian Grand Prix.
