I Don’t Feel Worthy
Dario Franchitti said he didn’t feel worthy as he was inducted in to the Motosports Hall Of Fame of America in Daytona on Tuesday.
The three time Indianapolis 500 champion and the four time NTT IndyCar Series champion was joined by fellow inductee Tony Stewart at the ceremony. The Scot who has 31 NTT IndyCar Series victories is regarded as one best drivers to have competed in the series in recent memory.
Speaking to IndyCar.com, Franchitti who remains heavily involved in the series with Chip Ganassi Racing as a driver adviser he said:
I actually didn’t realize what it meant, I think, until (Monday) night, until we actually went there. “It’s quite incredible when you see the people that have been inducted before. I don’t feel worthy. Tony Stewart and I were having this discussion about how some of these people are just incredible and to be part of that group now is humbling.
Franchitti has been heavily involved in Felix Rosenqvist’s development and given the Swede advice which paid off last weekend he finished his opening NTT IndyCar Series race at the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg where he finished in fourth place.
