We Need To Work Together As A Team
Bahrain Grand Prix pole sitter Charles Leclerc would not be drawn into the debate on potential team orders in today’s Bahrain Grand Prix when asked during the post qualifying press conference.
The Monaceques driver scored his very first Formula One pole position on Saturday and has his team mate Sebastian Vettel alongside him on the front row.
When asked about the start of the race, Leclerc said that he and Vettel need to work together as a team.
Leclerc has shown during both the Australian Grand Prix and so far this weekend that he is faster than Sebastian Vettel at this moment in time.
The 21 year old will be hoping that he can stay ahead of Vettel down to turn 1 so it will be interesting to see how he deals with the pressure.
Just like Colton Herta with Harding Steinbrenner Racing in the NTT IndyCar Series, Leclerc has shown maturity beyond his years in the early part of the 2019 season.
Speaking to Sky Sports following qualifying Scuderia Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto said that Leclerc would be allowed to race Vettel as long as there is a fair and clean fight between the two drivers.
