Rahal Leads The Way In Race Day Warm Up

Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Graham Rahal in the No.15 One Cure Honda led the final warm up session at Barber Motorsports Park on Sunday morning ahead of today’s Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama.

Rahal set a fastest time of 01:1₩.1751s ending the session just ahead of Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi in the No.27 NAPA Auto Parts Honda.

Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden in the No.2 Fitzgerald USA Chevrolet was third fastest just ahead of Ryan Hunter Reay in the No.28 DHL Honda for Andretti Autosport.

Zach Veach in the No.26 Gainbridge Honda was 5th fastest despite bringing out the only red flag of the session causing damage to the front of his car.

It was another impressive showing for Colton Herta in the No.88 GESS International  Honda for Harding Steinbrenner Racing as he ended the session in sixth place just ahead of Meyer Shank Racing’s Jack Harvey in the No.60 AutoNation Sirius XM Honda.

Pole sitter Takuma Sato in the No.30 MiJack Panasonic Honda was eighth fastest just ahead of AJ Foyt Racing’s Mathues Matt Leist in the No.4 ABC Supply Chevrolet.

Team Penske’s Simon Pagenaud in the No.22 Menards Chevrolet rounded out the top ten just ahead of Marco Andretti in the No.98 US Concrete Honda.

Felix Rosenqvist in the No.10 NTT DATA Honda for Chip Ganassi Racing was 12th fastest just ahead of his team mate and defending series champion Scott Dixon driving the No.9 PNC Bank Honda.

Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports James Hinchcliffe in the No.5 Arrow Electronics Honda was 14th fastest just ahead of Team Penske’s Will Power in the No.12 Verizon Chevrolet.

Marcus Ericsson in the No.7 Arrow Electronics Honda for Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports was 16th just ahead of Patricio O’Ward in the No.31 Carlin.

Sebastien Bourdais in the No.18 Team SealMaster Honda was 18th fastest for Dale Coyne with Vassar Sullivan Racing.

Spencer Pigot in the No.21 Autogeek Chevrolet for Ed Carpenter Racing was 19th just ahead of Max Chilton in the No.59 Gallagher Chevrolet.

Ben Hanley in the No.81 10Star DragonSpeed Chevrolet was 21st just ahead of Tony Kanaan’s No.14 ABC Supply Chevrolet for AJ Foyt Racing.

Ed Jones in the No.20 Chevrolet for Ed Carpenter Racing with Scuderia Corsa was 23rd fastest while Dale Coyne Racing’s Santino Ferrucci in the No.19 David Yurman Honda rounded out the order in 24th place.
