A Tough Day For Ed Carpenter Racing
Ed Carpenter Racing endured a tough opening day of the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach in California on Friday.
Ed Jones in the No.20 Ed Carpenter with Scuderia Corsa Chevrolet ended the opening morning of practice with a time of 01:09.2879s ending up in 23rd place and in the afternoon session he ended the action in 19th place with a time of 01:08.7006s and speaking following the action he said:
Today was a tough start to the weekend. However, we made a lot of progress in that second session. The field is so tight, even if you make up just a few tenths it really jumps you up a lot. If we continue making improvements like we did today, we could be looking at getting into the second round of qualifying tomorrow. That’s our goal.”
Spencer Pigot in the No.21 AutoGeek Chevrolet ended the opening session in 17th place with a time of 01:08.9120s while in the afternoon he was 21st fastest with a time of 01:08.8596s and speaking following the action he commented by saying:
We definitely have some work to do tonight to get ourselves in a better spot for qualifying tomorrow. We’re going to go back and look at not everything we did today, but also from previous street course races. We’ll come up with a solid plan to find some more time
